This lecture explores the life and revolutionary work of Donatello, the sculptor who helped define the Italian Renaissance through his mastery of marble and bronze. From St. George and the bronze David to the powerful Gattamelata and haunting Penitent Magdalene, discover how Donatello’s innovations in realism, emotion, and perspective transformed sculpture and inspired generations of artists, including Michelangelo.
Robert Geronimo is an art historian, illustrator, and professor whose work explores the intersection of mythology, religion, history, and visual storytelling. He teaches art history and comic art at the college level and has lectured publicly on Renaissance art, sacred imagery, and classical traditions.
