Children’s Italian Language Teacher • Stephany Di Gesaro 

Classes are taught by Italian Language Teacher Stephany Di Gesaro, who has taught Italian for 10 years, as well as the history of ancient Rome and English as a second language. She is a graduate of the College of Staten Island, with a bachelor’s degree in Italian education. She earned a masters degree from Touro in TESOL in 2015.

In her words: “I went to high school in Sicily when I lived there throughout my adolescent years because my parents found it very important to raise their kids where they were born along with my entire family. Living in Sicily made me love the language even more so, because I experienced it first-hand.

“I truly enjoy teaching my students about the Italian culture and traditions. Whenever I get a chance, I try to plan trips to Italy for my students so that they can also experience and immerse themselves into “la dolce vita.” As a first generation Italian-American, specifically Sicilian, I try to fit in as many traditions as possible into my daily life. I find it important to never lose that love and passion for what my parents taught me when I was a child, and continue to do so.

I cannot wait to share my love and experience with children at Casa Belvedere. La vita va vissuta … Italian style!”
