Celebrating the Brindisi • A Toast for Valentine’s Day

The Brindisi (Italian for “a toast”) is a song in which people are enthusiastically invited to drink, and has been featured in many operas.
This presentation will survey many of these wonderful arias and feature scenes where the drinking of alcoholic beverage or its effects are highlighted.

The creative genius of composers reveals the masterful way in which they portray the lyrics and sometimes very dramatic effect of their characters’ inebriation.

Participants will enjoy Rossini cocktails to celebrate Valentine’s Day with Operatic Drinking!
