  • VIRTUAL – Celebrating Dante Alighieri Live from Italy!
    10:00 AM-11:00 AM
    11/06/2021

Celebrating Dante Alighieri 700 years after his death.

Dante meets Ulysses: A journey through the Inferno’s XXVI canto   • Live from Rome!

The most dramatic event in Canto XXVI is Dante’s meeting with Ulysses, who carried out the strategy of the Trojan Horse, which led to the fall of Troy and eventually to the founding of the Roman line by Aeneas.
Ulysses is punished for events that would have been acceptable, even praised, in the time in which he lived. Dante falters from his concept that sinners are only punished according to the social standards of their time.

In this presentation, you will discover similarities and differences between the Ulysses of the Comedy and the Ulysses of Homer Odyssey, and also between Ulysses and Dante himself.

Join us in this presentation Live from Italy on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 10 am ET, 4 pm in Italy, and 7 am PT.

If you cannot participate in the live webinar, please note that all registered attendees will receive a recording of the session. We can’t wait for you to join us!
