Patrizia was born in the small town of Castellammare del Golfo, a picturesque, coastal province between Palermo and Trapani, Sicily. Patrizia’s culinary career began at the young age of 12 years old as she cooked and baked in her parents café. It was there that she flourished and developed a love for cooking and baking.
Patrizia spent her teens cooking, baking and managing the kitchen’s staff at the family café. This was the perfect springboard to Patrizia’s next job as chef for the town hall. While at the town hall, Patrizia broadened her skills as she was cooking for thousands of tourists from a variety of cultures, some with much more sophisticated palates.
Patrizia’s next adventure was to follow her true passion for baking and opened up her own bakery in her town. The bakery’s menu consisted of her own original recipes, while also incorporating recipes that had been handed down from generation to generation. Patrizia’s strong determination to make the bakery successful came with a lot of hard work and many long hours, day and night.
But her ambition didn’t end at the bakery. Her deep desire to learn new techniques and develop additional skills inspired Patrizia’s next major career change, moving to New York City. Immediately upon arriving in NY, she began working at a variety of different restaurants, creating desserts to suit the style and tastes of international cuisines.
Today Patrizia is The Belvedere Club’s exclusive in house pastry chef, creating many delectable delights and receiving rave accolades from club members and their guests. Simultaneously Patrizia will be sharing her culinary knowledge and expertise by teaching adult and children’s cooking classes for The Italian Cultural Foundation.
