Fee is $225 member\, $250 non-member\n\nIn the first four classes of this beginner-level series\, you will learn how to comfortably hold a crochet hook and the yarn and learn the basic crochet stitches: chain stitch\, slip stitch\, single crochet\, and double crochet. During classes 5 to 8\, you will make something! Once you have mastered all the stitches\, there will be some discussion on what you would like to make\, and provided with a suitable pattern.\n\nStudents should bring these required materials to each class:\n\nSusan Bates Crochet Hook – Size 5.00mm/8/H or Size 5.50mm/9/I\nA skein of yarn to accommodate your crochet hook\, size H or I. DESCRIPTION:Art Technique for Beginners – 10-week program \nTuesdays\, Sept. 17 to Tuesday\, Nov. 19 \n5 to 6:30 pm in the Verrazzano Room\n$270 members / $300 non-members\n\nThis 10-week course is designed to familiarize students with the basic methods of drawing and sketching from both life and photography and progressing them through rendering and the use of color mediums.\n\nThe materials will be the basic tools of drawing consisting of a pad\, various pencils including woodless pencils and simple watercolor pad\, pigments and brushes. A materials list will be sent upon registration. Note: Materials for this semester need not be of the finest quality; less expensive supplies will suffice.\n\nMost of the course is aimed at learning how to translate images to paper\, create dimension and textures\, and evolve simple drawings to finished pieces of art.\nThe aim of the course is to enable students to gain strength and confidence in the techniques\, exercises and observation skills required to create viable artwork. DESCRIPTION:Adult and children’s cooking classes are held on Mondays and select Tuesdays.\nChildren classes meet from 4 to 5 pm. Adult classes meet from 7 to 9 pm.\nAll cooking classes are held in Cucina Colavita\, a custom teaching kitchen. \nClasses are led by Kim Leo\, chef and owner of Kim’s Kitchen & Catering by Kim Cooks\, and a licensed food handler.\nEach person participates in hands-on cooking!\nEveryone will taste the recipe created by Chef Kim.\nThen\, after cooking your own dish\, you take it home with you! \nClass sizes are limited.
