SUMMARY:Children's Cooking Class
DESCRIPTION:Adult and children’s cooking classes are held on Mondays and select Tuesdays.\nChildren classes meet from 4 to 5 pm. Adult classes meet from 7 to 9 pm.\nAll cooking classes are held in Cucina Colavita\, a custom teaching kitchen. \nClasses are led by Kim Leo\, chef and owner of Kim’s Kitchen & Catering by Kim Cooks\, and a licensed food handler.\nEach person participates in hands-on cooking!\nEveryone will taste the recipe created by Chef Kim.\nThen\, after cooking your own dish\, you take it home with you! \nClass sizes are limited. This exhibit honors that loss while celebrating the overwhelming realization we had of how precious life is\, how much we cared for our neighbors\, our fellow citizens and how hard so many worked in the aftermath. \n\nThe Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere is honored to present Bearing Witness: An Era in Retrospect\, our first-ever exhibition\, commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11.\n\nThrough the work of eight participating artists\, the exhibition remembers those we lost and reflects on the extraordinary compassion\, courage\, and resilience of the communities who came together in the aftermath.\n\nFeaturing the work of Susan Grabel\, Diane Matyas\, Ann Marie McDonnell\, Michael McWeeney\, Kristi Pfister\, Dr. Marguerite Rivas\, and Sarah Yuster\, Bearing Witness offers a deeply personal look at an event that forever changed our city\, our nation\, and our collective memory.\n\nThe exhibition also includes commentary by Sr. Rose Paccate\, FSP\, an internationally recognized American art and culture critic and member of the Daughters of St. Paul living in Rome.\n\nWe are proud to open Casa Belvedere’s exhibition program with a presentation that invites us not only to remember\, but to bear witness to the humanity\, service\, and strength that emerged during one of the most difficult chapters in our history.\n\nRegister Here!

Rooted in centuries of domestic artistry\, crochet in Italy has long been a vital form of creative expression\, particularly for those who used thread and skill to create beauty\, provide for their families\, and pass knowledge from one generation to the next. In this workshop\, participants of all levels will learn the essential stitches that form the foundation of Italian crochet while creating classic quadratini della nonna (granny squares)\, a beloved motif traditionally shared among mothers\, grandmothers\, and neighbors.\n\nInspired by Trivento\, the small village in Molise celebrated as the “world’s capital of crochet\,” this program honors the enduring importance of handmade traditions in an increasingly fast-paced world. By slowing down and stitching with intention\, participants are invited to connect with Italian language\, heritage\, and community—helping to preserve a living craft that embodies patience\, memory\, and care\, one little hook (uncinetto) at a time.\n\n\nSupply List
