DESCRIPTION:Learn to Crochet at Casa Belvedere – Fall 2024\nAn 8-week program on Mondays\, Oct. 21 through Dec. 16 from 5 to 6 pm. No class on Monday\, Nov. 18. Fee is $225 member\, $250 non-member\n\nIn the first four classes of this beginner-level series\, you will learn how to comfortably hold a crochet hook and the yarn and learn the basic crochet stitches: chain stitch\, slip stitch\, single crochet\, and double crochet. During classes 5 to 8\, you will make something! Once you have mastered all the stitches\, there will be some discussion on what you would like to make\, and provided with a suitable pattern.\n\nStudents should bring these required materials to each class:\n\nSusan Bates Crochet Hook – Size 5.00mm/8/H or Size 5.50mm/9/I\nA skein of yarn to accommodate your crochet hook\, size H or I. You can get worsted weight\, DK weight or sports weight yarn. Instructor’s favorite is Caron Simply Soft\, but use what you like\, just keep it a simple yarn. Please note that dark colors and speckled yarns are difficult for beginners. DESCRIPTION:Monday\, December 16 • 6:30 pm \n\nTombola games begin at 6:30 pm; doors open 6 pm.\nMembers free; non-members $10 per person. Tombola cards must be purchased for each round at $3 each.\nSnacks\, drinks will be available for purchase – cash preferred.\n\nBeatrice Alecci returns to lead another fun evening of Tombola at Casa Belvedere! Snacks\, drinks will be available for purchase – cash preferred. \nTombola is a game that originated in Southern Italy. Similar to bingo\, the game is fun to play\, easy to learn\, and appropriate for all ages. The game begins when the person holding the cartellone (big board) takes numbers out of the sack one at a time\, calling them loudly\, placing them on their box in the cartellone\, and leaving time for players to mark the number on their card/s. In order to win\, players must have one of the following:\n\nAMBO - 2 numbers on the same row\nTERNO - 3 numbers on the same row\nQUATERNA - 4 numbers on the same row\nCINQUINA - 5 numbers on the same row\nTOMBOLA - all numbers on the card\n\nEach game ends when all 90 numbers are drawn or when a Tombola winner is declared\, whichever comes first.
