Last year marked two anniversaries: The 100th of the passing of Enrico Caruso on Aug. 2, 1921 and the 70th of the release of the film the “Great Caruso” in 1951.This fictionalized biography made by MGM starred Mario Lanza as Enrico Caruso and Ann Blyth as his American wife, Dorothy.
Casa Belvedere is proud to present this film as a way to celebrate the greatest Italian tenor of the 20th century as well as the great Italian American vocalist Mario Lanza. Lou Barrella, Opera Educator, will offer introductory comments about both Caruso and Lanza, adding to the overall pride we feel regarding our Italian heritage. Join us for this very special outdoor film on the grounds of our beloved Casa Belvedere!
